The Rochester School District extends its appreciation to two School Board members whose terms of service have recently concluded: Michael Langer and Thomas Trott. Their leadership and commitment have made a lasting impact on the district and the community.
Michael Langer served on the School Board from 2013 to 2025. During his 12 years of service, he was a thoughtful and steady leader who helped guide the district through the development of two strategic plans, advocated for expanded mental health supports, and championed both academic and extracurricular opportunities for all students. Known for his collaborative approach and strong belief in inclusion, Michael was a consistent presence at school and community events, always approachable and focused on what was best for students. His service leaves a lasting legacy of opportunity, support, and belonging across the district.
Thomas Trott served on the School Board for four years. He brought a strong spirit of collaboration and a deep understanding of the Rochester community to his work. Thomas’s dedication to students was closely connected to his service with West Thurston Fire, strengthening the partnership between the school district and the broader community. His leadership and commitment helped foster strong relationships and a shared focus on student success.
The Rochester School District is grateful for the time, leadership, and care both Michael Langer and Thomas Trott devoted to our schools and students, and we thank them for their service to the Rochester community.
