The Rochester School District is seeking qualified candidates to fill a vacancy on the Rochester School Board representing Director District 5. The Board encourages interested community members who are eligible to serve to consider applying.

Applicants must:

• Be a United States citizen;

• Be a registered/qualified voter; and

• Reside within Rochester School District Director District 5.

Interested candidates should submit the following:

• A biographical sketch (resume); and

• A statement explaining your interest in serving as a Rochester School Board Director.

These materials will help the Board understand each candidate's background, experience, interest in serving, and potential contribution to the district. Procedure 1114P provides that nominees will be asked to submit a biographical sketch and statement of interest.

Candidates will be interviewed during the Rochester School Board Business Meeting on Wednesday, October 28, 2026. The interviews will be conducted in open public session, in accordance with district policy.

If more than five qualified candidates apply, the Board will screen the nominees and select five candidates for interviews, as outlined in Procedure 1114P.

Following the interviews, the Board will go into an Executive Session to make their decision and appoint a candidate to fill the vacancy. The appointment requires approval by roll-call vote of at least three Board members. The appointee will serve until the next regularly scheduled board election in November 2027, when a director will be elected for the remainder of the unexpired term.
