Who Should Apply for Free/Reduced Student Meals?

You should complete the student meal application if:

  • Your household income is the SAME or LESS than the amount on the income chart below.

  • You receive Basic Food.

  • You receive Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).

  • You are applying for a foster child.

Why Apply?

Every eligible form submitted results in increased state funding for our schools!  The increased funding provides valuable resources for classrooms, staff and students!   

Also, even if your student doesn’t eat breakfast or lunch at school, students approved for free and reduced-price meals may also be eligible to receive the following items at no cost:

  • Event Fees

  • Field Trips

  • Associated Student Body (ASB) Card

  • School Dances

  • Breakfast and Lunch

In addition, if you qualify, you are automatically eligible for the Washington State SUN Bucks program. This program provides assistance to help purchase groceries during the summer months.

If you are notified that you qualify for free or reduced meals and would like to have student fees waived, please complete the consent to share form in Skyward Family Access or print and complete this document and return it to your school office.

How to Apply

The application can be submitted online through Qmlativ Family Access after August 20th. Paper applications are also available through the link below, at every school office, the District Office and the RISE Center.

Free and Reduced Meal Applications must be completed annually. Applications can be submitted online through Skyward Family Access after August 20th. Paper forms can be returned to any school office, the district office or the RISE Center. 

In accordance with federal civil rights law and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) civil rights regulations and policies, this institution is prohibited from discriminating on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex (including gender identity and sexual orientation), disability, age, or reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity.

Program information may be made available in languages other than English. Persons with disabilities who require alternative means of communication to obtain program information (e.g., Braille, large print, audiotape, American Sign Language), should contact the responsible state or local agency that administers the program or USDA’s TARGET Center at (202) 720-2600 (voice and TTY) or contact USDA through the Federal Relay Service at (800) 877-8339.

To file a program discrimination complaint, a Complainant should complete a Form AD-3027, USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form which can be obtained online at: Document here, from any USDA office, by calling (866) 632-9992, or by writing a letter addressed to USDA. The letter must contain the complainant’s name, address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation. The completed AD-3027 form or letter must be submitted to USDA by:
